Sodium Hexametaphosphate is a colorless transparent glass-like solid or white powder with greater solubility but low dissolving rate in water. It is also known as "Polyvinylidene Sodium", "Sodium Multiple Metaphosphate" and "Graham Salt". It can easily be hydrolyzed to orthophosphate in warm water, acid or alkali solution. Solution has a pH of 7.0.

Application of SHMP:

SHMP is excellent water treatment chemical.
1. In industry field,it is used as a water softening agent in solution for printing, dyeing, and boiler,
2. as diffusant in paper making; retarding agent, floating agent, dispersing medium, high temperature agglomerant, detergent and
soil analytical chemical reagent;
3. In food industry,it is used as quality improver in food industry in can, fruit drinks, milk and soybean milk, etc.

1. Sodium hexametaphosphate can be heated with sodium fluoride to produce sodium monofluorophosphate, which is an important industrial raw material;
