Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose Production Method:

 

The refined cotton cellulose is treated with lye at 35-40°C for half an hour, squeezed, the cellulose is crushed, and properly aged at 35°C, so that the average degree of polymerization of the alkali fiber obtained is within the required range. Put the alkali fiber into the etherification kettle, add propylene oxide and methyl chloride successively, and etherify at 50-80°C for 5h, the maximum pressure is about 1.8MPa. Then add proper amount of hydrochloric acid and oxalic acid to wash the material in hot water at 90°C to increase the volume. Use a centrifuge to dehydrate and wash until it is neutral. When the water content in the material is less than 60%, it is dried with a hot air stream at 130°C to contain less than 5%, and finally crushed through a 20-mesh sieve to obtain the finished product.

 

Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose Dissolution Method:

 

a. All models can be added to the material by dry mixing.
b. When it needs to be directly added to the normal temperature aqueous solution, it is best to use the cold water dispersion type, and the thickening usually takes 10 to 90 minutes after adding.
c. For ordinary models, stir and disperse with hot water first, and then add cold water to stir and cool to dissolve.
d. If agglomeration and wrapping occurs during dissolution, it is due to insufficient stirring or the normal type is directly added to cold water. At this time, it should be stirred quickly.
e. If bubbles are generated during dissolution, they can be left to stand for 2-12 hours (the specific time is determined by the consistency of the solution) or be removed by vacuum, pressurization, etc., or an appropriate amount of defoamer can be added.
